Does a hospice worker need to be with a patient at the time of transportation? Is hospice transportation free? These are just two of the countless questions we get about hospice transportation in Florida. We regularly transport hospice patients receiving home hospice or outpatient hospice care, and are equipped with the vehicles, equipment, knowledge and compassion to provide superior services. We make our patients feel like the first-class passengers they truly are.

What is hospice?

Hospice is a wonderful organization that provides beneficial and necessary end of life support, including emotional, social, spiritual and physical care.

Is Florida hospice strictly for elderly people?

Simple Answer: No

Explanation: Hospice is often wrongly assumed as an elderly program, but it is for people of all ages.

Is hospice transportation free of charge?

Simple Answer: No

Explanation: Hospice itself is a free service, but unfortunately we can’t offer free transportation. Our services cost money regardless if you are in hospice or not, but we guarantee to make every last penny worth it with our state of the art vehicles and unsurpassed service. As of 2012, most states do not cover transportation for hospice patients. There are still many other awesome services you can get free of charge thanks to the benefits of hospice.

Do drivers have special training to work with hospice patients?

Simple Answer: Yes.

Explanation: Our drivers are trained and qualified to work with hospice patients. They are HIPAA certified as well as trained for patient and elderly sensitivity. This allows our team of drivers to go above and beyond in regards to making every patient feel comfortable and at ease.

All of our drivers are monitored on a weekly basis to ensure they continue to follow all protocols in regards to loading and unloading patients, as well as driver safety. Also, our drivers are trained in defensive driving to help prevent accidents from occurring out on the road. Drivers are regularly drug tested as we are a drug, alcohol and smoke free operation.

Does a hospice worker need to be with patient during transportation?

Simple Answer: No.

Explanation: Hospice does not provide around the clock services. Instead it is designed as a service where volunteers and employees spend time with patients at different times throughout the week, but not 24/7. That means more than likely there will not be a hospice caregiver with you or your loved one at the time of transportation. Our drivers are experienced enough to fill their shoes and do the best job they can to make patients feel comfortable and cared for.

Can you transport hospice patients that are bed-ridden?

Simple Answer: Yes

Explanation: We are able to transport anyone and everyone regardless of mobility. If a patient is unable to get up or walk we offer door-through-door stretcher services. Our vehicles are equipped with the proper safety mechanisms to keep stretcher patients secure at all times. We always send out at least two people for every stretcher transportation job, granting utmost supervision and care.

Can you transport hospice patients with walkers or in wheelchairs?

Simple Answer: Yes

Explanation: Just as we have the appropriate vehicles and mechanisms to transport stretcher patients, we also have everything needed to safely transport patients with walkers and wheelchairs. We use the latest safety systems to keep wheelchairs locked into place so that patients remain secure.

What type vehicles do you use to transport hospice patients?

We have state of the art 2013 or newer vehicles fully loaded with the latest safety gear. We also check our vehicles on a weekly basis to ensure everything is in proper working order and safe for patient transportation.

Do you provide local and long distance hospice transportation?
