It is up to you to keep a steady flow with minimal delays. The only way to accomplish this is by calling the hospital floors and asking:
Hello, This is ______ With Stellar Transport. We are calling on Mr/Mrs _______ in room ______.
Does the patient have his 3008 Signed?
Is all the paperwork including the “Med Rec” printed?
Is the patient ready?
If all these are completed tell them you will be there in 15 Minutes. The best way to keep a steady flow is by calling them on the previous transport or when you are about 20-25 minutes away.
While waiting at hospital
- Do not wait at the nurses’ desk more than a couple of minutes
- Talk and work at the same time
- Always keep moving
- Try and do things in the same order every time so you will not forget anything
- Check for IV, Heart monitor, wound vac and Booties and make sure they are still not attached
- Helper and Driver should both be working to make sure discharge is smooth and fast.
Time Goal:
16 Minutes total on the Hospital floor
12 Minutes dropping off at the rehab
